My approach has always been to treat each child differently, and given my calm, patient and understanding nature, I have the ability to identify key strengths in individuals rather than being preoccupied by their weaknesses. While living in India between 2009 and 2015, I decided to start my own workshops aimed at teaching creative writing for local children aged five to fifteen years, with the bonus of them being able to possess their own work in physical glossy storybook form, for the whole family to treasure. My last workshops there involved me working alongside an extra-curricular learning centre affiliated with the Smithsonian Museum of American History which encourages innovative thinking and inventiveness in children’s development. I have been praised for the fun and thoroughly engaging teaching methods I apply in my workshops. After a thrilling teaching journey since relocating to the UK, I have now been awarded QTLS and enjoy teaching humanities and creative communication.
