They can be used to teach new words, and you can use the version without the words to quiz your students. The cards can also be used for a spelling bee or pronunciation bee. Another game I played recently was a game I call Runaround. I will put 4 cards in each corner of my classroom and then give my ESL students either a word or a description, depending on their level. The students then have to run to the right corner. They love playing this game in teams, it adds an active and competitive element to their vocabulary lessons.
