I'm a primary music teacher with over 12 years experience. Over this time I've often been asked by teachers to find a song for a particular topic in a class assembly through science, history and literature. I often end up writing my own songs and now I'm sharing them to a wider audience. All of my songs have been tried, tested, developed and performed with great success. I am offering the performance and backing tracks, sheet music and lyrics.

Florence Nightingale, a song for KS1

This song is in the style of an old English folk tune and is part of the year 2 history syllabus. It describes the journey of this iconic figure, and has been performed as a musical theatre piece in class assemblies. Children thoroughly enjoy performing this bright melody with actions. The Great Fire Of London, an upper KS1 song.

I am offering the performance and backing tracks, sheet music and lyrics of my upper key stage 1 song ‘The Great Fire of London’. This song is all about the history of the Great Fire of London, how it started, how it spread, and how it affected the people in London at the time. The song encapsulates the mood and sounds of the Baroque era, and children are captivated by the drama and journey that the song takes them. The song is ideal for a class assembly and can be extended through story telling, drama, physical theatre and dance i.e. the movement of the flames. The song has been tried, tested and developed with great success with children in years one and two. It would also be suitable for children in lower key stage 2.
