I have found a way of making Maths revision a lot more fun. I have combined the official question papers and the official marking schemes into a single document. This means you can ask a question, the students show their answers on mini whiteboards and then as a class, you look at the official answers and look at what the students would have scored. As this is a whole class teaching activity, students can work in pairs or small teams and discuss their ideas and strategies together. This really reduces the level of stress as children are able to build on each others skills. This teaching resource could be used in the classroom or at home. This teaching resource is a lot of fun and will make a difference to your students attitudes to maths. Keep Maths Fun! Tell me what you think of this teaching resource in the comments box below!

I wanted to make Year 6 SATs revision more fun. I have combined each of the 2015 Past SATs papers for maths questions and the marking scheme into a single document. This means that a teacher can now show a single question and get the students to find the answer before moving onto the next question. This makes revision a lot less stressful. I have removed the time limits and of course students can now work in pairs or small teams to discuss their different strategies and answers. It also helps to make the lessons faster paced and snappier as the children start to gain confidence in their abilities to solve maths problems. This resource could be used in the classroom or at home to prepare for the UK Year 6 SATs exams. Students should try all the tests to gain the deepest knowledge of this subject. Please leave me a comment below about this teaching resource.

In 2016, there will be a new Maths test format. I have taken the sample 2016 Maths SATs tests and combined the original question and answer papers into single documents. This means you can ask a single question to the class, wait for a response on their mini white boards and then check their answers against the official marking scheme. Check out my new video on how to make this lesson extra successful. The great thing about this is it really reduces the amount of stress in the classroom as the students are able to work on their own, in pairs or small teams to work out the answer. They can then discuss their different strategies at resolving each of the questions.. This is a nice set of teaching resources to keep a lesson well paced and snappy. I want to make KS2 SATs revision fun. I want it to be something students and teachers really enjoy. I have taken each of the SATs revision tests and combined the original test papers and the original marking schemes into PowerPoints where you ask a question and immediately see the the answer on the next slide. This teaching packs covers KS2 Maths and KS2 SATs SPAG tests (Spag is English grammar, punctuation and spelling Papers) The idea is that you can now ask a question and all your students show you the answer on their mini-whiteboards and then you discuss the answers together and see what would have got one or two points. As the students can work in pairs or small groups on the questions, they are less stressed and enjoy the whole revision process. In addition, it gives them a chance to learn about other student’s strategies. This pack could be used in the classroom for whole class teaching, for small groups or at home as a great teaching resource.

When I am revising maths, I like to ask a question and then the students answer it on their mini whiteboards. We then check the answer on the following slide. I have combined the test papers with the marking scheme, making teaching and learning a lot more fun. There is differentiated revision material. There are tests for levels 3 - 5, and tests for level 6, and some which are for all the students. All the students should try all the tests, to both consolidate and extend their learning to make sure they have the maximum chance of reaching their true potential. I have presented them in the different PowerPoint formats for the older and more modern computers. Did you know pairing a high achieving and less high achieving child together actually helps both? As the more advanced student explains how to solve a problem, they too improve their knowledge of mathematical vocabulary.

I have tried to make learning fun. My powerpoints combine the original question papers with the original marking scheme. This means that after each question, immediately comes the answers. My idea is that a teacher shows the question, lets the class answer it using mini whiteboards. Then the students can explain their different strategies and see what would have gained marks and how to improve their work. This pack contains both Level 3 to Level 5 material and also Level 6 tests. Every child should try every test. This helps to extend and challenge the main group, while consolidating the learning of the more advanced children. Even more effective teaching learning is to pair the advanced and less advanced - the effort of teaching the less able child actually improves the understanding and verbal explanation of maths. This teaching pack could be used in the classroom for whole class teaching, small group teaching or at home with a tutor.

I like to ask the class a question, give the class a certain amount of time to solve the question and then show me the answer on their mini whiteboards. I have taken the KS2 SATs numeracy question papers for the 2015 test and combined the question and answer booklets into a single presentation. This is a great way of teaching as there is an instant feedback and explanation as to how to solve each problem. This helps to challenge and consolidate the classes learning. This teaching resource could be used for whole class teaching and checking, or at home as a one to one resource with a tutor. These teaching resources make maths less stressful and so the students are more motivated to succeed! I have created resources for levels 3-5 and also separate resources for Level 6 students. All the students should attempt all the papers to both consolidate and strengthen their basic learning and also extend their skills to a higher level.

Sample materials which combine the test papers and mark scheme to help teachers prepare for the 2016 tests. The idea being a student can answer one question and then together the class checks the answers. The original test papers can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/2016-key-stage-2-mathematics-sample-test-materials-mark-schemes-and-test-administration-instructions. This is a great way of reviewing the maths tests as a whole class either as a way of revising after doing the sample tests or simple working through each question as a class.

These tests are set to change every 5 seconds, letting you test either individual children or a whole class at once. You might like to also look at my matching mini origami books which go with this series (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/mini-book-x2-to-x12-multiplication-times-table-tests-4-per-table-11198350) which are designed to make learning time tables more fun. There are 4 tests per times table, so the children do not know what test you will give them. They are written in PowerPoint so you can easily edit them or change the speed of the tests.

Making multiplication times tables fun. These timetables books are both fun to make and fun to use. They are a great way of helping students to learn their multiplication tables. I was trying to think of different ways of making practicing time tables more fun. This is a fun activity. I wanted it to be tricky enough that there was more than one set of different timestables to use. I decided that 4 different varients meant no child could simply learn the numbers off by heart - by time they have completed all 4 books for each multiplication timetable, they will be proficient in that book. You can start off with the easier multiplication tables such as the x2, x5 and x10 for the beginners, before moving onto the middle range books such as x3, x4, x6 and x8. Finally rounding off with the most challenging books. Perfect for Homeworks etc. I have now made it into an easy print books to make your life easier. Child make mini origami books, each with the times table in them and then the answers at the end, so they can be used for self checking. If you prefer no answers, it is a matter of moments to edit out the answers using a paint program. They can be used for testing or simple revision.
