This is a collection of different early reader books and teaching resources I think you will really enjoy using. I developed my own thinking scarves reading scheme as a replacement for the thinking hats reading scheme and I even converted a whole set of books which could be used with the scheme. I also created PowerPoint versions of a wide range of different “Can you spot it books” where you need to find all the different objects listed in the picture.

Year 2 Spring Maths Bundle. In 2000, I was commissioned to write a set of Spring Maths lessons for Year 2 students by a major UK Educational Publisher. The lessons contain the learning objective, a fun starter and a main lesson, followed by suggestions on how differentiate the independent learning part of the lesson using resources commonly found in most UK primary school classrooms.

I lived and I worked in Qatar for a year. I know that while you need to teach about Qatar History, the books you are given are not easy to use and certainly won’t last you a whole year and so I took the books I was given and I extended the tasks to produce a more interesting and more supportive learning environment, ideal for both the teachers and their students to get a lot more out of this topic.

This a good way to introduce the topic of cars and transport. I have also included two ‘Talk a lot’ teaching units about transport and cars. Finally, I also included the car free day presentation, to see how many different forms of transport the children can identify. Ask your students to describe what are the pros and cons of using each type of transport.

This is my toy bundle. It shows a range of modern toys and compares them to toys from the past. Which toys are still popular from the past? I also included a creative writing prompt to encourage the students to write about the different toys in more detail.

This is my cross curricular weather topic. I have a presentation about different types of weather which you could use to teach them the vocabulary they need to describe the weather. This is followed by a fun 'Talk A Lot' set of lessons about the weather and finally there is a vocabulary quiz which shows they can now successfully talk about the weather.

They are able to also copy a wide range of paintings. I have also included both a creative writing prompt to encourage children to look at a painting in more detail and also to use their research skills to describe a painting in more detail.
