This unique and creative escape room makes LEARNING chemistry FUN!!! This activity provides you with the opportunity to engage your students in scientific inquiry-based challenges. The escape room can be completed in less than an hour. Topics include: Matter Pure substances Mixtures and solutions Techniques to separate mixtures Concentrated and dilute solutions Saturation Elements and Compounds This escape room has a variety of engaging activities to accommodate and challenge different learning styles. In this digital escape room, students will use a copy of the Google Slides document along with the Google Form to breakout. An instructions/guidelines sheet has been developed to help you get started. My preferred method of setting up this digital breakout: In Google Classroom, create an assignment whereby every student receives their own copy of the escape room Google Slides document. In addition, provide them with the link to the Google Form document with the same Google Classroom Assignment folder.

This unique and creative escape room makes LEARNING chemistry FUN!!! This activity provides you with the opportunity to also include hands-on scientific inquiry-based challenges. That’s right…more than just traditional questions and decoders. The escape room can be completed in less than an hour (remove stations as necessary). Please Note: This product was made using Google Suites. You will receive a link to the Google Folder and you should make your own copy of each of the files. Topics include: Molar Mass Avogadro’s Constant Particles (molecules, formula units, atoms, ions) to moles conversions, vice versa Mass to moles conversions, vice versa Particles to moles conversions, vice versa Percent mass (composition), empirical, and molecular formulas Law of Conservation of Mass Mole Ratios Limiting and Excess Reagents Percent Yield This escape room has eight stations focused on stoichiometry with a variety of engaging activities to accommodate and challenge different learning styles. The station cards/clues can easily be edited to accommodate any changes you might want to make to personalize the stations. You can also eliminate any stations you wish not to have your students complete or add more! Don’t have any escape room boxes and/or locks? NO PROBLEM! I’ve also included in this package a ‘Google Form digital box and lock template’ you can use instead. With a boxless method I suggest you store the station cards in envelopes! What isn’t included here? Physics boxes and locks (digital ones are supplied if you want to go that route) Invisible marker (for station 4) UV light source (for station 4) Lead (II) nitrate, potassium iodide, ammonia, copper (II) sulfate, phenolphthalein, sodium hydroxide, universal indicator, and hydrochloric acid solutions (for station 5) Test tubes or microchemistry kit (for station 5) 3 different metal chlorides (can substitute in metal nitrates or phosphates) (for station 7) Methanol or ethanol (for station 7) An instructions/guidelines sheet has been developed to help you set up the escape room.

The escape room can be completed in less than an hour and the questions are designed for students at the grade 2/3 level! Option 1: Provide the students with the two links available in the instructions guide. The links will provide students with their own copy of the stations (including interactive puzzles) and the digital escape room locked boxes. The teacher can see that the students have escaped within the Google Forms ‘responses’ tab. Option 2: Using Google Classroom or a similar platform Students will use a copy of the Google Slides document along with the Google Form to breakout. In Google Classroom, create an assignment whereby every student receives their own copy of the escape room Google Slides document.
