2022 summer A level Geography exam coast support pack.

(0)
Coastal systems and landscapes preparation pack for the 2022 exams. The following questions are predicted questions based upon the advanced information from AQA (7037 & 7036). This pack is designed be used in order to help prepare students for this summer’s A/S and A level geography exam for the coastal unit. However, I have no inside knowledge of AQA exams, and I would encourage students to revise other parts of the course as well. This pack includes: Exemplar answers to the following questions: Using figure 1 and your own knowledge, assess the view that gravitational/tidal energy is the most important source of energy in the development of this coastal landscape. (6 marks) (A level) Assess the role of geomorphological processes in the formation of fjords. (6 marks) (A level) Assess the role of feedback systems in the formation of landscapes of coastal deposition. [9 marks] (AS question.) “Attempts of mitigation and adaption by coastal managers will effectively manage the risks and allow opportunities for human occupation as well as development.” With reference to a coastal landscape beyond the UK, to what extent do you agree with this view? [20 marks] (AS & A level) This pack also includes five tasks to help students to improve their knowledge and understanding of this content, as well as links to website to help promote wider reading. From my experience most students are unable to achieve the highest grades as their responses reply to heavily on the core textbook. By using the exemplar essay students will gain a deeper understanding of the issues that are required to achieve the top grades. In addition to the questions in this pack I would encourage students to practice the analyse question from the additional specimen paper on sediment transport pathways or the Chabahar Bay question from the 2018 paper.
