A short series of lessons designed to provide fun, real-life contexts for data collection that will get children out of the classroom and thinking about how maths relates to 'the real world'.
Supporting activities explore how data can be presented as 'continuous' and 'discrete', clarifying an often-confused and miss-taught area of the Year 6 curriculum. Open-questions and opportunities for discussion characterise this resource, with a view to fostering children's deep understanding and 'mastery'.
