AQA A-Level Chemistry DNA & Anticancer Drugs

3 Resources
I have found this part of the new specification to be lacking good resources, so I am slowly building mine up for this area of the course. So far this bundle comprises a PowerPoint on the structure of DNA and the action of the anticancer drug cisplatin; a set of 15 MCQs with answers; and a learning grid which makes a great revision resource on the topic. Check back soon for additions to this bundle

AQA AS/Year 1 A-Level Chemistry Shapes of Molecules

(0)
This presentation is a comprehensive tutorial for the shapes of molecules section of the Bonding topic (3.1.3.5). The concepts of VSEPR theory are clearly laid out with step-by-step instructions and examples to highlight ideas involved. The tutorial ends with a range of molecules to encourage students to think through a range of examples found in previous exam questions.
AQA A-Level Chemistry Learning Grids (Full Course)

AQA A-Level Chemistry Learning Grids (Full Course)

(4)
Every single learning grid to cover all the AQA A-Level (Years 1 and 2) topics (inorganic, physical and organic) for the new AQA A-Level Chemistry specification, that's 30 topic areas - a total of 60 grids. There are no grids for Optical isomerism and Kp and the topics are rather short. The learning grids are ideal for end of topic revision. Students work in small groups and roll 2 dice to determine a square on the grid. They then have to explain to the rest of the group what is contained in the square. An alternative to make this more challenging is to roll both dice 2 times and determine 2 squares. The student then has to make a link between the contents of both squares. Each grid has a second grid containing 6 ? If students land on one of these squares they must answer an exam-style question on the topic. Each learning grid has a revision checklist with it
AQA A-Level Chemistry Rate Equations Learning Grid

AQA A-Level Chemistry Rate Equations Learning Grid

(0)
Designed as a collaborative revision task. The learning grid allows groups of 2/3 students to work together to review the topic. Each student rolls 2 dice to get a 'grid reference' and they then have to explain what is contained in that square. This can be made more challenging by rolling the dice twice and making links between the 2 squares identified. There is a second version attached which allows students to land on a ? square, where they answer an exam-style question. Includes a learning checklist for the topic. Suitable for current A2 CHEM4 and new A-Level 3.1.9 Rate Equations.

New AQA GCSE Science (Trilogy) Organic Chemistry

(0)
This resource is intended as a collaborative revision activity. It is suitable for the organic chemistry topic (5.7) in the new AQA Trilogy Science qualification. Students work in small groups and take turns to roll 2 dice in order to determine a square on the grid. The student must then describe/explain the contents of the square to the rest of the group. This can be made more challenging by determining two separate squares and making links between them both. Differentiated for Foundation and Higher students, with a version containing ? squares to allow for the use of exam-style questions in addition. Includes a learning checklist for the topic.
