A powerpoint which outlines how to evaluate research studies using the mnemonic GRAVE (generalisability, reliability, application, validity (internal and ecological) ethics. This powerpoint defines each of the key terms as well as examples (and/or mini discussion activities) of each of these to develop students understanding of these concepts. The lesson ends with a review of other research methods (sampling techniques, design types, experimental types etc) using a 'you say we pay' style game. This is where one student stands with their back to the board and the class describe the key terms to them.

The lesson requires students to summarise the WMM with a framework to structure their notes. The powerpoint includes an application style question for students to apply their knowledge of WMM. Finally there is a question and answer loop to review WMM which might be used as a handout or the questions/answers displayed around the classroom as a kind of 'treasure hunt' activity.

This is a 1-2 hour lesson which should help students outline Asch's original study and 3 variations (group size, unanimity and task difficulty) as well as to evaluate Asch. This includes a powerpoint and a student handout/worksheet which provides them with key information and activities to complete during the lesson. In addition to this there is a 'blankety blank' style quiz/game to help students review the content of the lesson. Excellent as a plenary or a starter the following lesson to review the content.
