A cumulative song in an animated PowerPoint or video with matching large pictures and a worksheet. These can be used to alter the order of the song or for flash cards etc. There are also 2 mp3s , backing and voice.
With the backing track, you can use it for all sorts of songs according to your topic. E.g.
Animals, people who help us etc.
The tune used is "One man went to mow"
Children could listen out for the guiro and play with the song. Also, they could enter the garden in the way an animal would move.
This catchy song is about the importance of eating the right food for energy (Like petrol in a car).
If used in conjunction with other resources in the pack,it can be used over a few weeks.
Useful for Health week, food projects or Assemblies. If teaching to early years, let them copy the rhythms of the drum and guiro. Older children, or those who have music lessons, might appreciate the PPT on playing the instruments .This asks the children to listen in depth to the guiro and drum.

I have used this with key stage 1 and 2. They love it ! (Especially the boys)
This counting down song is designed for non music specialists to feel confident taking instrumental music. The words scrape, scrape, boom, clink suggest a guiro, a drum and anything metallic.
The worksheets -3 - Children examine the completed picture and compare it to their worksheet. They have to identify what is missing and draw their own in the space. I tell them that the photocopier didn't work and they have to finish the picture. The shape dinosaurs could e created on the computer.

Composition - Following on from the percussion pattern in the song, this shows how to write the composition down . The incomplete sheet is for the children to design their own composition
This simple song encourages the children to put on their super hero boots, magic cloak, and glasses for x -ray vision before they curl up exhausted after a days super heroism!
Use props or simply mime the actions in the short musical interluded after each verse or use simple instruments to imitate the action.E.g When the skeleton appears , add some bones (tappers/claves)
Using the mp3s , you can substitute the name of animal you wish to sing about. The example here is the dragon. The song encourages the use of drum and cymbal as children celebrate the Chinese new year. The vocals sing of the dragon but any animal may be substituted when you use the backing track.

I wrote this carol because I couldn’t find many suitable carols about the Annunciation. It’s useful if you are doing a Nativity Reading. There is a guide to use 3 notes on the chime bars (or glockenspiel if you haven’t got an Eb)

The song Jingle Bells for non specialists and specialists . Key stage 1 and 2

Differentiation -
1 Use the video as a song only
2 Use only the first few bars of the accompaniment
3 Add 4 note accompaniment in chorus

This song can stand alone as a topic song for the summer or as a piece to develop playing an instrument. The example on the video uses a xylophone and glockenspiel. Any tuned instrument could be used though.the teaching will range over a few weeks.
For those teachers less confident, I suggest a tambourine in the chorus.
Some pupils who take private lessons could sight read the xylophone part on the verse using a keyboard.

The Halloween Party. Song with percussion parts. Non-specialist and specialist.
This easy to learn song has a catchy chorus and is a lovely activity to use at the end of your Halloween day or it can be used over a few weeks to teach simple percussion parts. The percussion parts are graded in difficulty so there is something for everyone. In the teaching guide, there are audio examples of the percussion to help children play” by ear”.
