Most primary classrooms have a few maracas in the store room.Be amazed at the different sounds a maraca can make! This resource contains a song, and 2 videos. One video shows how a maraca can be played. The second shows a maestro playing the maracas. Children are encouraged to explore the sounds a maraca can make. They are asked to make a simple presentation with their maraca and join in with a Spanish song. This lesson can be adapted for a current topic. The videos are included in the PPT. The YouTube links are for acknowledgement.

There is a very simple part for the claves (or any untuned instruments) and for differentiation a simple part for chime bars with the notes written underneath the music.
