This worksheet is designed to help students sitting ELC ( Entry Level Science ) & want to learn and practice more questions on Component 4 - Outcome 5,6 &7
The exercise is suitable for SEN / lower ability students , will help them become confident on this topic and should take around 40 minutes to complete.
Outcome 5 includes-Describe how the Earth’s current atmosphere developed.
The word equation for photosynthesis.Describe how photosynthesis led to changes in the early atmosphere.
Outcome 6 includes-The current atmosphere . Describe how most carbon dioxide from the early atmosphere has been locked up as carbonates and fossils in rocks.Recall the present composition of the Earth’s atmosphere.
Outcome 7 includes- Crude oil and fuels . The crude oil is a mixture of a large number of compounds.Describe the location of crude oil.Explain how useful fuels, such as petrol and diesel, are produced from crude oil by fractional distillation.

ELC Science - Component 4 / Outcome 1,2,3 &4 ( AQA) / Entry Level Science/ Chemistry
This worksheet is designed to help students sitting ELC ( Entry Level Science ) & want to learn and practice more questions on Component 4 - Outcome 1 ,2 ,3& 4
The exercise is suitable for SEN / lower ability students , will help them become confident on this topic and should take around 40 minutes to complete.
Outcome 1 content include : Acids react with some metals to produce salts and hydrogen, Hydrochloric acid produces chlorides and sulfuric acid produces sulfates, The test for hydrogen uses a burning splint held at the open end of a test tube of the gas. Hydrogen burns rapidly with a pop sound Acids react with some metals to produce salts and hydrogen, Hydrochloric acid produces chlorides and sulfuric acid produces sulfates, The test for hydrogen uses a burning splint held at the open end of a test tube of the gas. Hydrogen burns rapidly with a pop sound .
Outcome 2 content include: Acids are neutralised by alkalis (eg sodium hydroxide) and bases (eg insoluble metal oxides) to produce salts and water.Acids are neutralised by carbonates to produce salts, water and carbon dioxide.Carbon dioxide turns limewater milky.Salt solutions can be crystallised to produce solid salts.
outcome 3 -content include:Some reactions transfer energy to the surroundings so the temperature increases. Such reactions include combustion, oxidation and neutralisation.
Other reactions take in energy from the surroundings, so the temperature decreases. These reactions include dissolving ammonium chloride in water and reacting citric acid with sodium hydrogencarbonate.
Outcome 4-Content include :The rate of a chemical reaction may be increased by increasing the temperature, increasing the concentration of reactants, increasing the surface area of solid reactants or by adding a suitable catalyst.
