Also included are a brief PowerPoint presentation with lesson objectives, starter and plenary activities, and a set of social development cards. I get pupils to cut these out and make poster explaining why each kill is important and how parents and carers can support the development of the skill. Usually takes between one and two lessons

Unit 1: 1.1.1 Hospitality and catering providers The resource includes a PowerPoint presentation, with starter and plenary activities, a video and two worksheets (one of which is incorporated into the PowerPoint and will need to be printed). The resource covers residential service (specifically hotels): • rooms: single, double, king, family, suite (en-suite bath/shower room, shared facilities) • refreshments: breakfast, lunch, evening meal, 24-hour room service/restaurant available • conference and function facilities • leisure facilities (spa, gym, swimming pool). It will take between 1-2 lessons depending on the ability of pupils.

To know and understand how awareness of competition from other providers affects hospitality and catering provision. To know and understand how environmental concerns, and seasonality impact hospitality and catering provision. Resource includes PowerPoint presentation with starter and plenary activities. The slides cover trends in the hospitality an catering industry, and seasonality. There is an activity for pupils to design a menu (will require the internet to research seasonal ingredients and to look at an existing menu). There is also an information shet and questions based on social media influence.
