This is a unique resource which contains the complete Year 5 and 6 spelling list programme. In 2014 the Year 5 & 6 spelling list was introduced. This contained 100 words that all Year 5 & 6 pupils should be able to spell correctly. This imaginative way of learning and testing these spellings is contained in 8 weekly parts, each including a humorous story setting the 12 words for the week in context. This booklet also contains an additional story assessing the 24 homophones, which many Year 5 and 6 pupils still struggle to use correctly in their writing. Story titles are imaginative and include; 'Vanessa and the Robot Dog,' 'The Story of the Richest Girl in the World, 'Marvo, Crusty and the Incredible Barrel Bet,' and 'Brave Sir John and the Smell of Fear.' to name but a few. This 60 page book is an essential resource for Year 5 and 6 teachers preparing for SATs and also useful for teachers in years 7 and 8 completing catch up programmes. I hope you will enjoy using this resource.
This rresource contains 10 challenging maths investigations. Here is everything you need to create a really fun fitness circuit in a small space. An ideal resource of those wet PE lessons when all you have is the hall available. This resource includes an individual pupil record sheet for a circuit of activities I’ve called the 'Boot Camp’ Circuit. It includes 9 different stations, each has a description of the activity and an equipment list. We have a small hall and this can be set out with limited space. I’ve included a floor plan. This could cater for up to 36 pupils with 2 pairs of pupils completing each of the 9 activities one at a time! I’ve also added picture cards which can be put at each station, and to encourage reading skills they each contain a brief description of each activity. These activities can be changed to suit the equipment you have at your disposal. As a free download this had over 37,000 downloads and has been updated and is a ‘ready-to-go’ resource. Enjoy! Also check out my Key Stage 1 version - ‘Key Stage 1 Boot Camp’
This resource contains everything you need for a fun fitness based circuit for Key Stage 1 pupils. It's your PE slot and it's raining again and you have 30 excited children and only the hall to do PE...Your prayers are answered with this resource! It contains an attractive pupil record card, picture cards to inspire your children and help them with each activity and a full instruction guide for teachers and full resource list. Everything you need to have a great PE lesson...and in fact a whole term's PE lessons! This isn't resource heavy and you won't need a great deal of space to accommodate 32 children in this activity. This is the second in a series of indoor fitness circuits. My Key Stage 2 resource 'Healthy Hearts' has had over 37,000 downloads as a free resource, and has now been updated and is still as popular as ever.

I’ve used this as an activity in the run up to Y6 SATs, but could equally be used for years 4 and 5 to access greater depth, or Year 7 pupils. It also includes an answer sheet. As a free download this resource had over 30,000 downloads with great reviews. This resource has been updated and is a ‘ready-to-go’ resource with the answers on the second page.
This is a set of 18 fraction word problems suitable for children in years 3, 4, 5 operating at greater depth and children in year 6 and year 7 operating between age related expectations and greater depth in the national curriculum. As a free resource these worksheets had over 83,000 downloads. It has been updated with the answers corrected and included and is a 'ready-to-go' resource. There are now 3 complete sets uploaded on this website - all with 18 fraction word problems and the answers.

This brilliant activity involves a class taking the roles of the 10 people (or groups of people) who could in some part be blamed for the sinking of the Titanic and the subsequent loss of over 1500 lives. The materials included here give you all the facts and everything you’ll need to conduct a killer debate. I did this with my Year 6 class, but it could be used with children from years 4 - 8. This is a tried and trusted resource which had over 7000 downloads as a free resource. It has been updated and is now even easier to use - all you’ll need is a printer, a pair of scissors, 11 envelopes and a willing class!
