periodic table colouring exercise
This instruction sheet provides step by step instructions for colour coding the periodic table to show the main groups plus the state of the nonmetals and other information such as the three magnetic metals.
It’s a simple-to-follow sheet. Pupils must use the information given to colour in eaach part of the periodic table. A great way to introduce the periodic table topic, since the pupils make a resource they can keep in their books for future reference.
meteorites investigation
this powerpoint explains how to carry out a simple experiment using a marble as a meteorite to impact a dish of flour. Instead of measuring the size of the crater, which is tricky, students measure the radius of the ejecta blanket. Results are surprisingly consistent for this practical.
AS Chemistry PERIODICITY notes
This resource is a set of notes summarising the periodicity topic. It’s laid out in concise language, and is specially written to match the questions encountered in the exams. I wrote it so that students can easily find the answer to commonly asked exam questions.
The last page is simple questions arranged in the same order as the text, so students can quickly check their underdstanding.
