This is a revision chant for the Edexcel GCSE Superpower Relations unit. It is call and response so each line is repeated; once by the teacher and then by the class. It is aimed to recap key events in the correct chronological order from the Cold Car Crisis in Berlin leading to the construction of the wall.
Revision: Prague Spring
This is a simple call and response revision song designed to be sung to the tune of Frere Jaques with each line repeated. It tells the story of the events of the Prague Spring in 1968.

BUilding the Berlin Wall - Berlin 1958-1961
This is lesson is designed for the Edexcel GCSE Superpower Relations unit on the crisis in Berlin from 1958 - 1961. This is a lesson designed to aid memory through lots of speaking and listening. Students work in pairs, one has the examiner sheet and one is not allowed to see it. The teacher reads out the story while changing the images on the scree to aid visual memory. What follows is exchanges of storytelling and marking by the students. The flipchart on Active Inspire (available online as a free download) includes instructions for the activity and a suggested note taking sheets and structure for writing. There is also a very differentiated sheet for those struggling to gain a 1 or to support EAl students as they are learning English.

This is a call and response chant designed to be shouted. It outlines the key events from January 1933 when Hitler was made Chancellor to August 1934 when he became the Fuhrer.
