During moderation, using HYPHENS was one area of writing most of my children always found hard to ‘tick off’. So to help them I compiled this hyphenated word bank. I left a space in each letter so they could add words of their own to it. But having them in front of them has definitely helped them to get hyphenated words in to their writing more. Some of them had to be explained to them for meaning, but now they love trying to fit some of the more unusual ones in to their writing. They also add words from their reading books to the list. I created this pack to use with my class next week for a whole school RE day with a Christmas theme. It could be done over several lessons though. There is a clear and easy to follow lesson plan. A powerpoint which clearly follows the plan A worksheet There are great creative links to art and design and lots of whole class discussions/whiteboard activities etc. I have just updated this Powerpoint and improved it slightly to use this year with my class across a few days. A worksheet with 3 different tasks to help with grammar. Goes over different sentence types- exclamation, command , statement and question with examples. Nice and visual and colourful. Can be adapted slightly in need be. My year 5/6s loved doing this!

My class planned a story about a girl called Elizabeth, who travels back in time to Ancient Egypt, where she encounters a problem she must resolve. I have created a series of 5 plot points, each containing 3 learning chunks. I used the year 3.4 curriculum for the grammar features

In my role as DSL I recently created some safeguarding surveys for children , parents and staff to complete. I have also included the covering letter I sent to parents with their survey (obviously I have removed our details. I tried to make the children’s more visually using emojis. I used similar questions and changed them slightly for all 3 stakeholders. Please feel free to change my resources as you require- any questions please ask.

I made this Christmas powerpoint to use for the last 8 days of term. It will be the early morning work but all with a seasonal twist. I made these tasks for my class to focus on now the SATS are over. They are loving them so far. They love working in groups and presenting to the class. It also creates a healthy bit of competition. Both group tasks involve working collaboratively, budgeting, research , recording information and preparing a presentation. I made this sheet based on the Romans (topic). The children were to choose 1 activity a week to do at home. There are a range of activities from writing and maths to art and DT. Lots of them encourage parental involvement. Suitable for KS2. I used this with Years 3 and 4

I created a knowledge organiser to use with my Year 5 and 6s on out new topic of Ernest Shackleton We are using the amazing book- Shackleton’s Journey by William Grill

I created a series of questions based on Charlie and the Chocolate factory. e follow VIPERS skills in our school so I linked them all to that. They were very successful in my year 4 and 5 classes. Any questions- please ask.

I created this sheet based on Excitable Edgar (The John Lewis Advert) to use with my class. Lots of the questions are open questions and could have various answers, hence I haven’t made an answer sheet. There is a link to the video which needs to be watched before the activity

I used the write stuff style planning with my class for Viking Boy by Tony Bradman. We wrote narratives using 5 plot points each with 3 learning chunks. The planning is also included. Also, as my class loved the format, we used the same style for Non-Fiction, newspaper reports. I made an example of a newspaper too as my class also did this for their computing sessions (word processing). I have included this too. We got really good fiction and non-fiction writing from all of the children using these resources. Any questions, please ask.

L.O- To recognise and challenge stereotypes. A lesson I have just done on sytereotypes, prejudice and discrimination which went really well. Thought others might find it useful :-)

We did a whole school RE day (incarnation) We looked at the question 'What is the true meaning of Christmas?' Here is the notebook file I used. It was a really successful day and I hope somebody else can use some of it. We made some great adverts as a result of it.

A maths investigation based on 3D shape.. I used this with years 5 and 6. It is good for SATS practice as it gets them to explain their answer.
