Spanish Fun Worksheet Activity / Sub Plan: "Guess that Movie" "Que Pelicula Es"

This hand out is a collection of 10 popular movie synopsis written in Spanish. Students must read the synopsis and try to figure out what movie it is describing. Then they are asked to write three sentences. The title of the movie, rather or not they have seen it (good to use for present perfect grammar) and if they liked it why or why not. This is a no prep assignment that can be used for a sub plan, additional reading practice or homework. Great for levels 2 or above.

You can also buy these two sets separately for level 1 or 2 at my TpT store. Exercises include translation, fill in the blanks, riddles, multiple choice, corrections, listening, visuals and much more!! Check out the preview page for the table of contents and some examples from the packet. Thanks for looking!

Spanish Murder Mystery Party Kit

This wonderful, editable activity was designed for my Spanish 2 class but could be adjusted for levels 3 and 4 by adding more past tense in descriptions and clues. During the “party” a mysterious murder will occur and it is students’ jobs to talk to each other in the target language to gather and infer information to make an accusation at the end of the game. My students love this game and talk more in Spanish than in any other oral activity that we do. All students receive character cards days before the game starts to tell them how to act, what info they know and what secrets they have. Packet includes an optional prezi to guide the game, directions, plot, character cards, name tags, character list, clues and data report sheet for students to fill out while in conversation. Allow 2-3 days for completion. Designed for my Spanish 2 class but could be adjusted for levels 3 and 4 by adding more past tense in descriptions and clues.

Spanish Choose Your Own Adventure Digital Escape Room "Zombies at School"

100% online and ready to go! No prep necessary! After happening upon a zombie in the janitor’s closet toward the end of the school day, students must quickly begin to make decisions on what to do about it. Each decision they make will lead to a different outcome. Most outcomes in the game lead to them encountering zombies and forces them to start over. However one path allows them to escape. Along the way they will have to read through the Spanish story line and choose their own fate, in between decisions there are also a few google forms that ask them to write out the explanations to their decisions before moving forward in the game. This is a super engaging reading and writing exercise for upper level Spanish 3 or 4. This is my favorite Spanish resource that I offer here on TpT! I do not recommend this activity for lower level Spanish classes. Duration is 45-55 mins. **Game requires access to a computers. This is ran on google sites + google forms.

This movie guide is basic and straight forward. Easy to use and edit on the fly. I use this in my Spanish 1 class. Also makes a great sub plan.

Here is a great, simple first assignment for beginner’s in Spanish. It could be given to students on day 1. Students are asked to study a list of Spanish cognates and fill in the blanks to an English story line to create a customized story in Spanglish. Have students share out. Allow 15-30 min for this mini lesson. These usually turn out to be pretty funny! In addition to creating the stories, you can also have students draw an illustration on the back. Thanks for looking!

Spanish 1 Final Exam Review Jeopardy

This is a PowerPoint Presentation Jeopardy game that covers all major vocab and grammar structures in Spanish 1. I use this for my Final Exam Review day, but it is a nice recap that could be used at the start of Spanish 2 as well. vocab and grammar are based on the Realidades textbook, but it can be used for any level 1. Categories include (Vocab, verbs, definite and indefinite articles, possessive adjectives, Ir+a+infinitive, and a miscellaneous). It also has two double jeopardy plays and final jeopardy. I also throw a third element in my jeopardy games called club play where all teams playing have to be the first to come up with the correct answer if a club play pops up (it adds a nice dynamic to the game and keeps kids paying more attention when it is not their turn). Once club play is over the team that hit the club play originally will get to complete their standard turn. This PPT is set up to keep track of questions already asked and transitions from the home jeopardy screen to questions and back with ease (answers are also included on all slides with the click of a button)

Spanish Auction Simulation Activity for Store Items Spanish 3 + 4 Game Editable

(0)
This is an auction simulation covering store items vocabulary in Spanish. Shampoo, soap, lipstick, batteries, scarfs, shoes etc… This is an editable resource that could easily be change to fit any set of vocab. For example instead of store items it could be for clothing, foods etc… This is a conversational based activity that I use in Spanish 4. I do not recommend this for lower level Spanish classes because a lot of Spanish conversation and comprehension is required. As the teacher be prepared to lead this activity as the auctioneer. My students love this activity and really get into the bidding. Items for sale in the auction are contextualized for current pop culture. For example one item for sale is Kim Kardashian’s Personal Lipstick, another is Kanye West’s toothbrush. Play money is included with this resource. In pairs students must make decisions about what items they want to buy and must bid against other groups in order to win the item. When they purchase items they are given points. The team with the most points at the end wins the game. Duration is about 55 min.

Spanish Performance Task: TV Commercial / Radio Ad Project for Store Items

Great Project for chapters covering stores and store items. Students create a Spanish Tv Commercial / Radio Ad that will be aired during the Super Bowl. It is their job to select a store and product and promote them. First students are asked to fill out the brainstorming doc., then create an advertisement plan, followed by a commentary outline. As a final step they are asked to voice or video record their ad to share with the class. Students really enjoy this project. I recommend this for Spanish 2 or higher. Allow 5/ 60 min classes for the entire PT including 1 day to show final products. This resource includes all detailed directions, checkpoints to keep students on task, launch document and grading rubric.

Spanish Choose Your Own Adventure Digital Escape Room "Zombies at School" Part 2

100% online and ready to go! No prep necessary! Back by popular demand! This is the sequel to my “Choose your own adventure zombie escape game”. This activity does NOT require that you complete part 1. This activity can be implemented as a stand-alone resource. That said, I highly recommend you start with part 1. It will be much more fun for the students. You can find it here: Zombie Escape Game Part 1 Part 1 is their escape from the school. Part 2 here is about saving the town from zombies. Just like part 1, most outcomes in this game lead to them encountering zombies and forces them to start over, however one path allows them to “save the day”. Along the way they will have to read through the Spanish story line and choose their own fate, in between decisions there are also a few google forms that ask them to write out the explanations to their decisions before moving forward in the game. This is a super engaging reading and writing exercise for upper level Spanish 3 or 4. I do not recommend this activity for lower level Spanish classes. Duration is 45-55 mins. **Game requires access to a computers or other tech devices. This is ran on google sites + google forms.

Make Spanish reading comprehension fun with this “zombie survival guide”. Students will read through the definition of a zombie, the virus, recommendations for surviving etc… then they will be asked 8 follow up comprehension questions. This makes for a great supplemental ready activity, homework or nice sub plan. I recommend this resource for levels 3 or higher. If your students like zombies I also have two awesome digital zombie escape rooms that I use with this lesson.

Spanish Research Project Travel Unit Performance Task Levels 3 or 4 El Viaje

Students get the opportunity to become travel agents making their own brochures through this fun informational research project. Student must choose a Spanish speaking country to research and provide detailed info via a travel brochure. This project is well organized and detailed, giving students specific directions and guidelines for thing to research and what include in the brochure. I base this project off of the Realidades 2 Ch. 8 travel theme and have students incorporate subjunctive by making suggestions for travelers. Example: If visiting Cuba I recommend that you bring your passport. This is also a good way to practice Spanish composition outside of the standard essay format. Duration is 1 week.
