GCSE drugs lesson Edexcel exam board

This is a really interactive lesson for performance enhancing drugs based on the 'market place&' idea. Students will gather information using differentiated worksheets; one for the higher ability and one for the low ability. The high ability students will move around the room teaching the other low ability students about the drug and the low ability will stay seated teaching the high ability. A really engaging lesson with minimal teacher input. All lesson resources are attached Please take the time to rate and review, thanks!

Teaching and learning newsletters

I write the schools teaching and learning newsletters every two weeks. These are NOT my own personal ideas I merely source them from various places (research articles, text books, twitter, educational blogs) to provide CPD to the staff at my school and share best practice. They include teaching and learning ideas, activities, current and topical pedagogy etc. If this is something you are responsible for in your own school or you would like to improve your own knowledge with very short simple snippets of advice then why not download them and save yourself a bit research time. In this download you will receive the first seven newsletters.

The board is bright and colourful and comes with ready made questions for each body system. These can be modified to suit the needs of your learners if required. Students wont feel like this is an assessment activity as they try to beat one another around the board by answering questions correctly. They have a choice as to which body system pathway to follow at the start but be careful, if they get a question wrong they might end up moving onto a body system they aren’t as confident with! This keeps the challenge level high and the pressure on!
