Cambridge English Language Paper 1 Full Breakdown (2)

(0)
Full breakdown of paper one. 47 slides! Each question is looked at with the pointers/how to answer/what to look for, highlighted sections of text, as well as answers, mark scheme extracts and student friendly summaries of what they mean. The three big questions (summary, writer’s effects, transformative) are looked at in lots of detail with the task broken down into pieces and examples of what to do/not to do. All the information is broken up and sequenced on clear slides to be as student friendly as possible, questions/answers are animated to thinking time and to avoid cluttering slides. This is perfect for a Y10 class working through a paper, but equally useful for Y11 revision or students working at home as all the questions and answers are in the same place! You will need access to the June 2021 paper ‘trees’ and students will need copies of the reading inserts for this to be effective. This is similar to my other paper breakdown, but I have styled some of the tasks on the three big questions differently for some variation. If you want tasks on specific elements of the questions - look over at my TES shop for more resources including quick starter/mini tasks to get your students thinking more about language in a quick and creative way.

Cambridge iGCSE (CIE) paper 1 summary practice .

(0)
Designed for use with the Cambridge iGCSE language paper 1. This is a collection of 4 summary tasks to help build skills. The 4 tasks get gradually harder and should be split over a couple of lessons/homeworks. All the information is on the slides with instructions on how to break down the task and the skills that are being tested. All the passages are printed on a handout with the questions and room for answers. Passages included - decorating Easter eggs, Training for a Marathon, Farming in Kenya and an exam question from an old style CIE paper (teachers oct/nov 2014) so students can test their skills without using any of the current past papers. Hope you find it useful - I find teaching the language paper a little dry, so this is my attempt to make it a bit more interesting!! If you find it useful, there are a series of other resources targeting the other questions on the paper as well as a full paper breakdown in my shop. Reviews/feedback are appreciated.
