I've been teaching since 1982. Over my 30+ years in teaching I've worked in Primary, Secondary and Special education, adult education, community work, 1-1 English teaching and youth theatre. For the last 5 years I've been working as a substitute teacher in Amsterdam. I have worked with the UK National Curriculum, the UK GCSE/A-level programme and sections of the IB programme. I worked with excluded teenagers in the UK and used my arts work to help them with basic skills and social interaction. My passion is for performing arts. I originally trained to teach Music and Drama. I think arts subjects have enormous value and empowerment for students of all ages and abilities. My personal passion is writing. I have self-published 2 books, 'The Wishing Sisters' collection of stories (2008) and 'Footprints in the Snow' (2011), a Christmas novella for children aged 8-11. I'm currently working on a YA novel and a second set of short stories. I also love travelling, which helps me to write.
