Basic functions of how to use Sibelius. A work in progress but I've tried to use the main functions and there are many things that can be added to this. Any feedback would be very useful!

Pirates main theme with arrows pointed at certain symbols of the score. Students have to recognise, identify and name the symbols. It's not the most refined but can be useful for ideas. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Students can compose a piece based on rhythms - basic introduction to composition. Students can apply different rhythms, rests, ostinati and structure. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

An assortment of card sorts - you can cut these out, put sticky backed plastic on them, call out a question and pupils fold over the key terms to be left with the key term to answer the question. Can be used for starters, plenaries or other mini tasks. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Print outs of the bass guitar fretboard for students to use when learning how to play the bass guitar. Useful for class band lessons - students can read the layout to work out which notes they need and evaluate which notes sound 'better'; higher pitch or lower pitch.

Key points of the background of composers typed out into sentences. They can be cut up for the students to assemble into groups of the various composers. They can be further developed by adding in a Cloze passage element to them. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

If this is the answer what is the question? An answer is provided for the students e.g. E major and they have to work out the potential questions, of which there can be more than one question per answer. E major = final chord of the Beatles, key of the Perkins, key of the arpeggio sections in the piano/woodwind in the Stravinsky, key of the McCartney's verse, dominant of Haydn&'s song etc. Answers are not written on as it gives students the opportunity to show you and prove their answer is correct. Each document is a list of musical checkpoints in each piece for the 2012 exam. Students can cut these out, stick them on a photocopied score or they can be cut up even further and students have to work out to which piece they belong. Easily adaptable for the needs of your pupils. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Questions in the 1 point list are the easier questions, 3 points are slightly harder and the 5 points are pretty tricky. Students choose which question they answer, write it down, check with teacher and move onto another question. Teacher holds all revision guides and anthologies so if a student doesn't know the answer they can ask. The teacher will show them the answer but they forfeit points. Useful for independent learning and self-differentiation. Could also be used as a research task for students. Easily adaptable to the needs of your pupils. Any feedback would be great, thanks!
