This is a presentation of steps to prepare students for Grade 5 Associated Board Music Theory. Students can use boomwhackers, xylophones, etc. to use examples and to create their own.

If this is the answer what is the question? An answer is provided for the students e.g. E major and they have to work out the potential questions, of which there can be more than one question per answer. E major = final chord of the Beatles, key of the Perkins, key of the arpeggio sections in the piano/woodwind in the Stravinsky, key of the McCartney's verse, dominant of Haydn&'s song etc. Answers are not written on as it gives students the opportunity to show you and prove their answer is correct. Questions in the 1 point list are the easier questions, 3 points are slightly harder and the 5 points are pretty tricky. Students choose which question they answer, write it down, check with teacher and move onto another question. Teacher holds all revision guides and anthologies so if a student doesn't know the answer they can ask. The teacher will show them the answer but they forfeit points.
