Practice: Verbs followed by infinitive
Complete each sentence in an original manner by choosing an infinitive from the word bank below or coming up with your own. You cannot repeat any infinitives. After the infinitive, add 4 -5 words to expand on the sentence. Your sentence must make sense. No collaboration or on-line translators.
Students will complete a total of 12 sentences
Verbs included: querer, poder, pensar, necesitar, ir + a, tener + que, gustar, encantar, aburrir, preferir, saber, desear (English translation of the verbs is included).
Students can also use other infinitives not listed in the word bank.

Irregular preterit sentence completion practice
Complete each sentence by conjugating the given verbs in the preterit in the first blank and expand on the sentence by adding 4-5 words in the second blank. Sentences should not be repetitive (using the same words over and over) and must make sense.
12 verbs included: hacer, querer, venir (i stem), andar, estar, poner, poder, tener, saber (u stem), decir, traer, conducir (j stem)
Students will write a total of 12 sentences (3 for i stem, 6 for u stem, and 3 for j stem verbs)

In pairs, students will prepare and present an original commercial about a product or event of their choice. Guidelines are provided along with an example of sample ad.
Students will work in pairs in order to write and present a skit on a robbery that took place in a store or come up with their own situation. The goal of the skit is for students to demonstrate the correct use of the preterit and imperfect tenses in their skits.
Students will make a short poster by doing research on a famous athlete in the Spanish speaking world. Clear guidelines and rubric for grading are included.
