A reading and writing activity about Christmas in Spanish Read the letter that Marcos wrote his friend José about how he celebrated Christmas last year and how he used to celebrate Christmas as a child. Complete the letter using the preterit and imperfect tenses. The letter has two paragraphs (one preterit and one imperfect). The preterit paragraph has 16 verbs, the imperfect paragraph has 15 verbs (ser is used three times) As a follow up, students can write their own letter on how they celebrated last Christmas and how they used to celebrate Christmas in their childhood. Students will create 24 different subjects as well. The 24 infinitives are provided for students to use along with a sentence starter for all 4 categories (regular, irregular, stem change, and spelling change) You can use this activity as a bell ringer or exit slip as students are learning various conjugations of the present subjunctive. Students can also do the activity in pairs or alone as a review for a test or quiz. Modified copy of the activity for sentence writing is included. Students can add extra words after the verb conjugation to create original sentences.
