A homework/ classwork assignment to practice writing original sentences to show two on-going actions at the same time and an action in progress interrupted. Part 1: Write 4 original sentences with the subjects given to show two actions in progress at the same time. Part 2: Write 4 original sentences to show an action in progress interrupted. There are two sets of this assignment (only the subjects and verbs have been changed) so two different classes can get the same assignment. EXAMPLE: Yo/ leer= Ella/ mirar. Suggested sentence: Yo leia mi libro mientras ella miraba la tele.
A worksheet to practice on-going /simultaneous actions with interrupting actions using the preterit and imperfect tenses. The worksheet has 10 fill in the blank questions and students have to choose the verb in the correct tense: Imperfect for on-going / simultaneous actions and preterit for interrupting actions. Answer key is included. This worksheet can be done in class where students work in pairs or groups, or it can be assigned for homework.

PRETERIT IMPERFECT ORIGINAL SENTENCE COMPLETIONS (No on-line translators)
Compose 20 original sentences using the preterit and imperfect tenses based on the clue words (ayer, anoche etc). There should be a total of 6 words minimum after the subject (yo, José etc). Circle the conjugated verb in every sentence and post the word count at the end of every sentence. Sentences must make sense to receive credit.

A short quiz on basic vocabulary related to health. Part one requires the Spanish translation of the vocabulary word and part two has personal questions.
There 12 vocab words translations and 8 personal questions.
For this activity, students will be given 5 regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs with different subjects and words and they will have to combine the elements from column a, b, c and add additional words to create an 8 word sentence for all the 15 verbs given. This is a good activity for Spanish 1 students.
