Highly recommended by OCR monitoring visitor!!
Here we have personalised, student-friendly check lists for students to use to self-assess themselves against the criteria for each PAG. Teachers can also assess students skills, write the comment and date, and sign at the bottom.
If students improve their work, it can be clearly written on the check-list on the ‘date achieved’ section.
Additionally, i have added extra PAGs I have devised in order to allow students to meet skills they may have not met at the end of the two years. These are on skill areas:
Graphs, biological drawings, collecting data and research skills.
If you like this bundle- then please check out my HUGE Practical endorsement bundle, which has excellent resources and everything needed for a head of biology to implement practical endorsement.

Completely compatible for OCR A biology A.
42 mark test, 50 minutes.
Questions on plant and animal responses, With synoptic questions and practical questions also
Literally everything you need to teach this unit effectively!
This resource pack includes all the lessons for B3.1 nervous system and includes the content for both separate science ( triple) and combined science.
Packed full of exam questions and activities on the ppt presentation and seperate word documents. This also includes the mark schemes.
The lessons covered are:
The nervous system ( Includes the structure and function of the CNS)
Reflexes - including reflex actions and reflex arc. This also includes a brief section on testing your reflexes with a ruler experiment
The eye ( separate science) - structure and function of the eye, defects of the eye e.g. short and long sightedness, colour-blindness, eye accomadation
The brain ( seperate science) - structure and function of the brain, techniques used to study the brain e.g. MRI, CAT and EEG scans, evaluating the different techniques to study the brain.
Nervous system damage
There are exam questions on every lesson, including various 6 mark questions e.g. two 6 mark questions on the eye, one 6 mark question on reflex arc.
Two packs, one for OCR gateway biology A, and one for OCR gateway 21st century science. However, I am using both for gateway science specification as the skills are relevant.
Markschemes are included also!
Exam builder used, but a lot of formatting was needed due to conversion to Word document.
A combined unit test on Ecosystems, populations and sustainability ( 6.5 and 6.6 text book units or 6.3.1 and 6.3.2 specification), perfect for the new OCR-A level biology specification.
Fantastic practical exam questions on 6.4 cloning and biotechnology - completely compatible with OCR A-level biology A specification!
This bundle contains exam questions on planning an experiment on renin, a synoptic question on asexual and sexual reproduction
This also contains a resource on the effect of calcium ions on milk coagulation. This includes a practical pack, including investigative skills/experimental questions, technicians sheet, and also challenging evaluative questions such as limitations and improvements.
Furthermore, it contains a really good evaluative pack on the experiment ‘estimating the number of microbes on the surface of peas’. Both of these experiments were used as controlled assessments in the old specifications - however, really relevant to module 1 skills- skills our students really struggle on!
If you like this bundle, then buy my full bundle, with ALL the lessons!
Over 13 resources on 3.3 Transport in plants, for the new OCR A-level A specification.
This includes, powerpoint presentations on all the lessons, activities and exam questions!
Two powerpoint presentations that help students work through 6 mark questions on the cardiac cycle and double and single circulatory systems.
There are differentiated 6 mark questions, on a 6 mark question framework, enabling students to plan out their answers. The framework. The framework includes a key word box, command words section, plan section and assessment criteria boxes. The higher ability students would need to come up with their own assessment critiera, however the lower ability students can use the assessment criteria provided.
This is suitable for for the new OCR gateway 9-1 specification, IGCSE and many other specifications!
The powerpoint presentation shows how you can use these assessments as a peer-assessment or self assessment tool! For example, for the cardiac cycle question, there are exam answers for students to assess themselves using the assessment critieria.
Detailed lesson plan with differentiated resources for higher and lower ability students on the effect of concentration on the Rate of reaction. This also includes a detailed powerpoint presentation, activities and questions.
