This is a great way to see where the new Y7s are at, this test takes maybe 30-45 minutes (depends)
The next lesson you can use the powepoint to get the students to mark their own assessments. This way there is already some peer marking in the book, there is data for them already and you do not need to extensively mark.
Including the publisher version of the assessment so you can change things if need be.
This is a great lesson for Year 7s or Year 8s. This uses a video on how castles were defended from Youtube (a copy of it is in this bundle or message me if you need a copy).
By the end of the lessons students should be able to describe and explain key features of medieval castles which were used to defend it and to explain how effective these were in keeping attackers at bay.

This can be used for any year group really but I pitched it at year 8s some of whom will be familiar with these topics from the previous year. This gauges their natural ability and lets them have a go at edexcel style exam questions.
Test takes maybe 45 minutes or a whole lesson.
The next lesson use the PPT to help them peer or self mark their assessment which is great as there is already some peer assessment in their books, you do not have to extensively mark and also you have some data for them.
I am including the publisher version too so you can change it if need be.
A set of 3 baselines which will save you lots of time.
They are based on the new EdExcel questions and marked by the class in the next lesson - resources for this are provided.
this means you will have peer marking, a set of test results for your class before the 1st 2 lessons.

These are for students who have learned the themes of
Relationships and Families
Religion and Life
Crime and Punishment
Religion, Peace and Conflict
These do not contain revision material - they are intended to be a place where students can summarise their learning into small chunks, in order to revise.
They should use their class books and revision materials to complete these booklets. These can be completed either at home, or at school during revision lessons.
At the back of each booklet are a range of exam questions with a few exemplars/points they could have included which students can attempt themselves.
Please note there are not exemplars for each question _ I think I have included maybe 3.
