ARCA - las personas transgénero / SUFFIXES in Spanish
I have been putting things together so that I can do some revision of topics that were covered during lockdown - I will want to pop back to some of them as we move through the first term. One part of this is a resource based on an interview with the Venezuelan trans producer ARCA. I have also taken the opportunity to take a look at suffixes in Spanish. When you see the resources you will see how I have shoehorned that in by using the lyrics from a song from ARCA’s new album!
Spanish Festivals
Resources to teach about Festivals in Spain. They can be used for Writing and/or Speaking activities.
The seasons in Spanish
These resources are to be used following the teaching of the weather in Spanish. The focus is on the seasons and then describing the climate zones of the world. There are two versions of the text for differentiation purposes. The map that is coloured in as part of this activity is printed from the PowerPoint slide 10.
La piratería
Piracy. The PowerPoint discusses downloading in its general sense before moving on to differentiate between legal and illegal downloading. The video + listening tasks are embedded and should work when the PowerPoint is downloaded. I have uploaded it to slideshare as the file was too large for this site. Also, the listening task on Spotify is based on a podcast from the SSL4YOU website http://ssl4you.blogspot.co.uk .
Los pingüinos de Madagascar – una misión navideña
I used this with a top set Year 9 group. I showed the film before doing the activities. I explained that they would find it very difficult to understand but what I wanted was for them to get a general idea of what happens in the story. The film lasts about 12 minutes. I followed this with the activities on the PowerPoint. The memorisation activity at the start gives them the opportunity to learn some key words then you go through what happens in the film expressed in simpler language. Finally comes the blanked text activity.
El uniforme escolar
The activity relates to opinions on school uniform. The worksheet is printed on card + cut up and the students sort the statements into two columns- for or against school uniform.
