Settlements: Cities; Tbilisi

(0)
A geography colouring page that can be used as part of a lesson about settlements and cities. This page is a city called Tbilisi, in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia where I used to live and work on educational reform projects in schools. Tbilisi gets its name after the hot pools: 'tbili' means 'hot' in Georgian language. The city was founded when the King was out hunting. and it is said that the pheasant he shot down fell and landed in the boiling spring waters, so it was cooked when he found it. You can sometimes feel tremors from earthquakes and the country has one of the oldest languages in the world and strong orthodox Christian roots.
