An Easter assembly done as 5 news bulletin reports outlining the different parts of the Easter story as it may be reported today. I used this for the Easter service at church across 5 classes but easily adapted to an assembly and different groupings. 10 speaking parts. Could also be an Easter dram/RE/RME lesson.

Lyrics to a song which gives examples of different types of energy and how energy changes from one form to another. Also stresses that energy is conserved. Set to the tune of When Christmas Comes to Town from Polar Express as my class already knew the tune. Last page of the PowerPoint is a lyrics sheet to be printed and given out if required. A PowerPoint describing the traditions of welcoming a baby into the Sikh faith and how names may be traditionally derived. Aimed at a young age group but would be easy to edit.

I have run a shoe design challenge as a team building, business studies and enterprise topic. This sheet is for pupils to first design their trainer before pooling their team ideas on a larger A3 version. I have then given them a cheap plain white lace up gym shoe (small size and just 1 per group) to design a prototype with Sharpies they then market and advertise. Think Apprentice/Dragon's Den style. 2 part system. Laminated mat goes on you tables of 4 with table number/group name on in whiteboard marker and coloured arrows pointing to seats. Sheet is filled in for each class with seats assigned by table and colour. As classes arrive seats can them allocated quickly with pupils being given their table number and seat colour. When working in co-operative groups it is then easy to assign roles and tasks by colour. I've used this to good effect when teaching several classes in a day for non contact time in a room which was not permanently mine so all resources had to be removed at the end of the day. This system could easily be moved from room to room.

A sheet to plan an account of an event. I have used this to plan writing a factual account of Sports Day, a sponsored walk and school trips. Prompts to structure the writing and encourage chronology.

Experiment to investigate the effects of salt and sand or grit on ice. Introduces the idea of a catalyst and explores why we grit the roads in winter. SCN 0-05a 1-05a 2-05a

2 sheets one of which asks pupils to find a different person who shares their taste in the set catergories. The second sheet sends pupils to look for differences. Great icebreaker for a newly formed class or the start of a school year to get to know them. Also useful for PHSE activities and links to HWB 0-10a 1-10a 2-10a 3-10a 4-10a and HWB 0-47a 1-47a in the Scottish Curriculum.

Guided research sheet to find out about Eric Liddell Scottish rugby player, Olympic medalist, missionary and prisoner of war and how his beliefs shaped his life. I have used clips from Chariots of Fire around this as well as an excellent PowerPoint downloaded from TES resources. Used as a series of lesson to explore the Scottish curriculum Development of Beliefs and Values RME 2-09a 2-09b RME 2-09c and RME 2-09d. Also used as a key Christian figure for RME 2-02a.

A sheet to scaffold the writing of directions including key vocabulary at the bottom of the page. I've used to get children to write a range of directions between 2 places in the school or school grounds. MTH1-17a

Quick way to generate data for information handling purposes. Also great for chance and uncertainty, calculating odds etc. Throw dice for a set period of time and tally results. Create bar or pie charts from data. Compare to charts for combined results of the class. MNU1-22a 2-22a

A research sheet I gave a P7 class to research the Jacobite story using the BBC Around Scotland Jacobites website from their Scotalnd Education pages. Mapping exercise for the Jacobite campaign and guided questions to get a flavour of the topic.
