This is one of the workshops I do before the exam. We focus on some little things that may make students lose marks. like negatives, verbos de cambio, if clauses, perfect tenses and tener expressions.
There are also three literature gapfils for them to practice with.
Resource includes a ppt and the student worksheet.
This is a practice booklet with lots of exercises for alevel students.
In includes a list of verbs that are conjugated like gustar and the exercises vary from correct the errors, gapfills and translations.
Some exercises include sentences about El laberinto del Fauno so if that is the film you are doing, your students will be able to manipulate these verbs and hopefully they will be encouraged to use them more in their essays.
I have also included the answers in the same document.
These are 2 series of resources, one for Y12 and one for Year 13 to train students to deal with summaries.
The Year 12 includes a Reading Assessment (version A and B) with 5 questions in each one:
Reading comprehension with answers in Spanish
Synonyms
Summary
T, F, NM
Translations into Spanish
After this assessment, we did a Summaries training session to get better at it.
The Year 13 one includes a power point + students notes in which students practice changing from the I/we persons to the he/she/they persons. The aim of this lesson is to get better at manipulating the language.
The 5 topics included are:
Immigration
Racism
Living together
The young
Monarchies and dictatorships
These are the vocab lists my students use to learn the topic vocab. They also have these lists on Memrise. Please, leave your email when doing a review and I will email you the memrise links :)
This is a 21 pages booklet with all the preterite irregulars (dirty 11, six pack, spelling change, ucir, uir, IR stem changing verbs, double vowel ones.
It includes lots of practice and translations for students.
Please download Candara and Helsinki fonts if you want to use the word document.
This booklet is ideal for Y12 but could also be used as retrieval for Y13.
Translations include vocab from Family and Idols.
This is a mat that contains all key grammar aspects studied in Alevel.
Indicative tenses
Subjunctive tenses
Ser / Estar
Por / Para
Gerunds
Passives
If Clauses
V + prepositions
And lots more!
My students absolutely love it and have it with them all the time. It has become their most valuable reference guide for grammar.
Please, note that the STARS only appear in page 1 and 4. Don’t print those pages. Print pages 2 and 3 and you won’t have the stars.
Also, this is an A3 mat so I would recommend to print with A3 printing settings.
Here is a mat I have made to revise those tricky words like pronouns, demonstratives, relative pronouns and other bits that students find very tricky.
Hopefully students will be able to improve their translation skills after completing the series of exercises I have prepared in the sheet.
The sheet includes about 7 exercises (3 pages) and the answers for the teacher.
Here are the higher level mats I have made for my students.
I created a new “more” Spanish mnemonic for them since I really liked the one our French department uses for higher level French language (croissant). I also wanted to encourage them to use other aspects of the language like Direct and Indirect Object pronouns or “verbos de cambio”.
We do La casa and El Laberinto and these 2 mats compliment the other ones they have (you can find them in my shop here).
I have also included the Chipirones Ladders game I made recently. Whilst students practice with a card or general conversation questions, they have to use the game board and move up the ladders. In each step they have to use certain grammar. There are 2 games, one to just practise chipirones and the other one includes opinion phrases. Students will need a counter and they move their counter one box at a time. The aim is to get to the top of the ladder.
Please, note that the stars are only in the first page! The second page has the same but without the stars. :)
Hope your students find them useful!
Sara
This is a VOCABULARY booklet with HIGH FREQUENCY vocabulary that I have noticided is used in the Listening and Reading exam (AQA).
What I have done is to go through past papers and annotate the words and categories of words that tend to repeat. For example, connectives, nationalities, crime, poverty, infinitives, numerals, jobs, etc. I have then added extra words so that there is a full list. For example, in the section of “jobs” I have added words like científico, periodista, astronauta, hombre de negocios which have appeared in previous papers but you will find a total of 2 slides full of vocab for jobs.
This booklet is a revision tool for students. Teachers can use it to set regular vocab learning and test students as well (it has a scores section at the back).
This booklet prints really well in A5.
This is a booklet for Alevel for the topic of La casa de Bernarda Alba.
It is designed to help students learn the key vocab in preparation for the writing paper.
There are some notes on “figuras retóricas” used by Lorca (metáforas, etc.)
This is the worksheet I put together using different internet websites and some of my own exercises for my students of Year 13.
It worked well and students got an intense practice.
This resource is a vocabulary booklet for students of Alevel that do Pan´s Lab.
I have recently updated this booklet and have opted to translate the words into English. This way the students can use it as a revision tool.
It includes a detailed list of vocabulary for the different scenes in the film.
It also includes an information sheet for essay structure and a section for parents/carers to fill in when testing their children.
I have printed it in A5 and my students have absolutely loved it. I made it for our AS last year but gave a copy to the A2 too. The A2 have found it useful to revise the vocab.
Goes really well with my Pan´s Lab MAT, which you can find in my shop :) on TES. You will find the link in my blog :) https://recursossj.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/alfombrilla-de-el-laberinto-del-fauno.html
This mat is ideal for those students of Alevel doing Like water for chocolate.
Contains lots of grammar and higher level essay phrases to maximise the language marks in Paper 3 (writing).
Includes my latest updated version of the mat.
Includes a practice assessment for students to practise at home or a lesson before the actual assessment.
2 versions of the assessment provided. You can either save one version for resits or if you have lots of students and not enough room to separate them, then you can give out both and alternate them.
Actividad de correción de frases para mejorar la "accuracy" en los ensayos.
He añadido las respuestas.
En mi blog encontraréis más cositas de Alevel:

Duplicate and reduce to A4 so that students have two small gameboards each.
In one they allocate their own boats. In the other one they take notes of the boats the hit or miss.
Encourage your students to use more target language with this display :)
