Students are then shown how appreciating or depreciating exchange rates affect the cost of raw materials for businesses. Quick lesson on Universal Basic Income used with my Year 13 Economics students. -Students read the BBC article on UBI -Try to fill in the table with some pros and cons (using their own knowledge) -Then I put the Financial Times video on (19 mins; free on YouTube) and asked students to update their table accordingly -Also resulted in a good discussion in my class after viewing I found this was a good way to help my students understand a real world issue that isn’t necessarily in the syllabus
