KS1 and 2 - Reading question and answer stems

(1)
Perfect for planning and teaching whole class guided reading - comprehension skills. The question stems are based around the KS1 and 2 SATs and are broken down into the different skills that children need to learn and different question types that appear in comprehensions. They are perfect for helping teachers to plan questions in reading and they include greater depth question stems. The reading answer stems give children sentence starters for answering the questions and are split into the different types of questions such as inference, retrieval, vocabulary etc.

Year 5/6 whole class guided reading (1 week) - Talking Turkeys poem

This resource is for years5/6 whole class guided reading. It focuses on a different skill each day and includes answers. It’s made a real difference to the level of reading in my class. You will need to download the poem ‘Talking Turkeys’ online, but it’s easy to find for free. The idea is to teach the skills and then take away the support a bit more each day so that by Friday, the children work independently.
