This activity is designed to explain and review the states of matter. After a reading passage, there are three multiple choice questions, which includes a table, and a constructed response. I pass out this homework assignment as a review before the student's assessment.
This Chemistry Interactive Notebook Section has a lot to offer! Before using Interactive Science Notebooks, students got lost in writing and not comprehending the science. The INBs allow the students to keep a neat, interactive, functional, and yes, FUN notebook.
-32 Chemistry Flap-Fold Vocabulary Words & Definitions
-Unlike other Interactive Notebooks, this INB has typed definitions.
oThis is important for students (Modifications & 504) who require
written copies of Notes.

Chemistry Differentiation Stations
This is the Chemistry Differentiation Stations. This product consists of six different stations for students to learn about Chemistry.
How It Works:
Station 1- Vocabulary matching game allows students to match key vocabulary terms with definitions.
Station 2- This station allows students to read an article focusing on Chemistry and to answer multiple-choice questions.
Station 3- Students are given the opportunity to sketch major concepts within Chemistry.
Station 4- The student reads a passage and then writes constructed responses.
Station 5- Students read provided fact cards and writes down the correct vocabulary term.
Station 6 – Students enjoy a hands on activity.
This is a brand new Space Escape Room totally immersive product from the STEM Center that promotes cooperative learning! We have developed a comprehensive, 5 tiered, SPACE themed, Escape Room. The Escape Room centers around the fundamental vocabulary found within a SPACE unit.
One of the main reasons many teachers do not use escape rooms is because it takes a long time to develop, and many times even a pre-made lesson is to difficult to implement. Our new “Escape the Homework” lesson is simple to apply within the classroom. Students are given a 20 word puzzle that will lead to unlocking a lock box that contains their group’s 1st set of color coded clues. After each group solves a set of 12 color coded clues, they will gain access to a second team’s questions. Upon solving the 12 questions, the students will gain access to a third container of questions. If the students solve all 48 clues before the end of the class period, they will receive a pass on a homework assignment centered around SPACE vocabulary and concepts.
The content of the puzzles and clues come from your unit’s topic. You may choose to introduce the unit with an escape room. This will force the students to research the material. In order to run the escape room in this fashion, the students should have access to science texts, or electronic device that the student may access the internet.
You may also choose to use the escape room as an assessment. You may allow the students to use their notes in search for the answers to the clues, or you can be hard core and simply give them the boxes, locks, and a time limit!
The escape room can be run several different ways. The cheapest and easiest method is to use manila envelopes for the puzzles (all directions provided).
For a more authentic escape room each group will need the following:
5 Lock Boxes (best boxes are either tool boxes or ammunition boxes)
One five-digit lock
Four 3-digit locks
Both methods will need the following:
All printed materials (included)
Manila envelopes
The entire system of our Escape Room is explained on our website
