This resource identifies a method for introducing a Coaching Programme for support staff in your schools; the same resource can be adapted for introducing the same programme for your teachers, but it would require some careful additions regarding a focus on teaching and learning and, or other key foci for your team.

A Powerpoint that guides the students into strengthening their memory through image chains - the PP could help shape a Learning session/PSHE lesson to help students improve their working memory.

The Learning Diary is a booklet that can be used for students to record evidence of their learning that takes place outside of the classroom environment.

Aims for the use of this Booklet: This booklet will help schools support students in developing positive aspirations for the future; the statement produced will help teachers to address the needs of individual students (Gatesby BM 3) and then provide evidence for encounters with employers and employees (Gatesby BM 5) as in Practice Interviews, for example. A positive Careers statement will serve any young person well and advertise their skills, achievements and experiences to future employers and for College and University applications. This extensive step by step booklet can be used for KS4 and Post 16 students alike, as both age groups would benefit from using such a statement alongside their CV. The aim of this booklet is to guide students in to writing a Careers Statement, that helps to show off their strengths, personality and achievements during their school career and to bring together the positives of their educational journey to date.

Part 1 of 3 Behaviour Support Packs that have been proven to support improvements in Behaviour. A five week module of work that can be used as part of a Life Skills Programme or for intensive 1-1 targeted work. The module uses real life examples as identified by the student through reflection, to help modify and improve their future responses and relationships with staff. The programme aims to support improvements in student behaviour by helping them reflect upon their previous actions and behaviours.

Student attendance continues to come under scrutiny since the Covid Pandemic. The Tracking and Monitoring attendance package contains the appropriate monitoring tools and associated resources/letters/templates to effectively track student attendance in any school. Alongside the resources are appropriate letters that align to different stages of the tracking and an overall monitoring chart to be used by the attendance officer, to track referrals and cases which require additional follow up. In addition I have added monthly Red/Amber/Green Letters which are an additional monthly resource to inform parents of their students attendance and how it aligns to school expectations. I have also added a template that helps staff to identify historical attendance and exemplar narrative to help you use the appropriate language used by monitoring agencies. I have used this bundle of tools to track attendance in all of my roles in the past 6 years and it has proved very effective and easy to use. This is a Year Planner for Assembly Themes (Highlighted in Red on a Monday) and Thought for the Day (For each day during the school year). Although this is one I wrote for the last school year (Dates on Calendar will be for 2019/2020) it will still provide some creative ideas for assembly themes and thoughts for the day that can be further developed by your tutors or teachers of PSHE. It is all perfectly laid out on a calendar style template.

I am presently working with a student who regularly struggles to engage, therefore any evidence of his learning is important. I have compiled an evidence folder to help collate his work, but in addition I have designed this log to record any learning he may achieve and if possible to support the recording of his thoughts and opinions regarding his work; the evidence log may indeed be completed by his key worker. A useful resource to record evidence of work especially for those students who are struggling to engage at all.

This excellent training/reflective document identifies an extensive list of possible ways students could disrupt learning in the classroom, alongside some less than helpful responses by the teacher…the document then identifies a more appropriate response that helps the teacher to manage the situation more successfully. The resource identifies more than 20 different scenario’s alongside an opportunity to have ago at some answers for yourself.

The Student Review Book, primarily aimed at year 9 students, provides an extensive document that supports student reflection and action; the plan can be used at the end of a term or at the end of a year, to help the student reflect upon the previous term/year and put thoughts and actions into place for the following term/year. The plan also provides a focus on Citizenship and how this has been developed by the student over time. The document can be incorporated into any PSHE or Life Skills Programme or indeed form an integral part in any Tutoring Programme.

This resource includes a model 'Anti-bullying Policy, in addition to an in-depth evidence form for recording bullying incidents. In addition, I have added a couple of initiatives that were introduced in my Centre…A bullying levels programme that can be incorporated into any Behaviour Policy/Anti-bullying Policy and an appropriate letter that can form as a template to shape any bullying letters that need to be sent home to parents. In addition to these excellent resources I have also included a Bullying Contract that can be used with students who are habitual bullies in your provision. All have been proven working documents in a PRU.

This resource identifies a number of questions that can be asked of students during a tutorial/review day or simply used to help prompt appropriate and supportive conversation between a tutor and their students. I wrote this resource for my tutors in a PRU who had to lead student reviews at the end of each term and they found it very helpful in prompting appropriate responses from their students.
