A notebook file full of interactive resources to help teach 2D shape

Welcome to Sentence Centre here you will meet the four different sentence types children need to know and use in year 2 SPaG. The sentences are presented as characters who talk about the properties of their sentence type. Included are two follow on activities that children can do at their tables to demonstrate their understanding.

Meet the fist five characters from Numberland. A unique resource to help children with early number recognition. Children often struggle to retain number recognition and this is a tried and tested approach which uses alliteration and colourful memorable characters to support children in their first steps in maths. A mat for children to use to solve simple subtraction activities

This is a great activity to do alongside baking Numicon biscuits. We use a six Numicon tile as a cutter to create a cookie for each child. Children then bite of one circle each just like the mouse does and see how many circles the have left. On the interactive activity click on a number and see how many circles are left when the mouse has eaten that amount. Click on the mouse to return to the whole cookie. A good activity for simple subtraction.

Children have to select the correct amount of mouse food depending on the house number the mouse is next. If they're correct they will have a visual and sound reward.

An interactive notebook game based on the Letters and Sounds rhyming soup game

This notebook file supports children in finding rhyming pairs, read out the phrase to the children and name the items. Which one rhymes? Children click on the rhyming item and if they're correct they will receive an noisy and visual reward!

A simple rhyme and interactive notebook file to support children with 1 less than from 5. Watch as Jack sneaks out of the cupboard to steel one of the giants golden coins.

This activity includes a song and interactive notebook file. Children sing the song then click on the windows in the house. What can they hear? Use the erase tool to rub out the window and find out what all the noise is about!

Match 1-10 . Included is a base grid displaying numerals 1- 5 and 6-10, quantities of sweets arranged in the Numicon patterns from 1-10 can be cut out for children to tick on the base grid demonstrating number recognition and matching quantity to number.

An interactive notebook file where children have to estimate how many sweets they see before the sweets disappear. Once children have made their estimation the sweets reappear and can be counted correctly and compared to their estimation

An interactive notebook file which supports children with early subtraction. Children take away the correct quantity by feeding the T-Rex then counting the remaining dinosaurs to find the answer

A notebook file which supports children to estimate how many things they see. Dinosaurs appear briefly on the screen before they disappear, children are instructed to estimate how many they thought they saw, before the dinosaurs reappear and can be counted accurately. The dinosaurs are arranged in regular formations to support children in early addition by grouping.
