Summer 2 Emergent Reader Booklets - One booklet contains text and images, the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Each booklet contains 8 pages: the Summer title page with 7 additional pages containing I'm going to + a summer activity. Activities included are play with friends, swim, go to the park, read, play baseball, play video games, and play soccer. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and illustrations. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary. Students of all ages LOVE this Valentine's Day activity! They practice writing descriptive adjectives about their classmates and at the end of the class, each has a Valentine's Day keepsake that many will talk about and save for years.

Spanish Direct Object Pronouns and Food Chant and Student Activity - This download includes the following: 1. Chant - 28 lines with a clip art image illustrating each of the 14 food words. 2. Chant without the Spanish food word so students have to say it from memory and looking at the clip art. 3. Chant with Spanish and English food words and the direct object pronouns missing so students must figure out what goes in the blanks. 4. Student activity chant template so students can add their own food words and direct object pronouns and create their own versions of the chant. This fun chant contains 14 different food words, direct object pronouns lo, la, los, and las, me gustaria, lo siento, the verb ver, the command pasame, and 14 different names of girls and boys. Sample food words included are jugo, pudin, tostada, camarones, and postre. The first line of each stanza is a person asking another to pass a food. The response on the second line substitutes a direct object pronoun for the food word. The repetitive nature and cadence help students learn the vocabulary quickly. Once they do, they enjoy seeing how quickly they can say the chant!
Spanish Classroom Survival Crossword Puzzle, Vocabulary and Image IDs - These materials contain words and phrases that will help students start communicating confidently in Spanish in the classroom. This activity uses common Spanish verbs associated with boyfriends and girlfriends, and their behaviors and interests. Sample verbs are jugar, tener, tomar riesgos, saber + infinitive, hacer planes, hablar, ser, ir, and tocar. Students will practice 3 forms of each verb in the present tense for asking, responding, and the follow-up written activity. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes when asked about statements in each of the 16 boxes. A sample statement is, "Pienso que un novio debe hablar conmigo todos los dias." When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. 2. Spanish ER Verbs Pair Work Escaleras Activity, Vocabulary and Quiz - Partners quiz each other to see who can get all vocabulary correct and climb "las escaleras", or the stairs. One student has the answer key and the other has the infinitives with subject pronouns. After one makes it to the top of the stairs, students switch parts. The download contains: 1. Activity page answer key grid for partner 1. This page contains 35 verb conjugations of 16 common -er verbs such as comer, beber, correr, aprender and comprender. They are copied 2 per page. 2. Students assemble 4 x 4 bilingual Spanish/English vocabulary puzzles. Just photocopy enough of each puzzle for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip or put the pieces in a zip seal plastic bag. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. All puzzle sheets include bilingual word lists alongside them. This list is helpful when students are assembling the puzzles and also makes a good review list or bookmark, and can also be used for student pair work.

Spanish Saber and Conocer Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity - Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. The grids contain questions such as, "Sabes patinar en hielo?" or "Conoces la ciudad de Nueva York?" When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. When a student fills the entire grid, he shouts, "Bingo!"
