This student reference contains mnemonic sentences for the Spanish speaking countries in South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Guam and the Philippines, and the "leftover" countries of Spain, Mexico, the U.S., and Equatorial Guinea that are scattered in different geographic regions. There are notes about the meanings of some countries, as well as a list of the top 5 most widely spoken world languages. These catchy sentences will help your students remember the Spanish speaking countries and their locations for years to come!

This vocabulary activity bundle is great for practicing new vocabulary and revisiting vocabulary throughout the year. There is one page for each of the 20 official Spanish speaking countries, plus Puerto Rico.
The categories section is blank so that you may choose the categories best suited for your class. Write the categories that you want across the top before photocopying, or have students write them when the papers are distributed. Use these signs to decorate your room and present, practice and review Spanish speaking countries and capitals. In addition to the official Spanish speaking countries, the presentation includes the U.S. and Puerto Rico because of the large number of Spanish speaking residents as well as Guam and the Philippines because of the Spanish influence in those 2 locations. Both Guam and Puerto Rico indicate that those 2 locations are part of the U.S.
There are 3 slightly different sets included in this product to give you flexibility in your classroom. The 3 sets are:
1. Spanish speaking countries with the corresponding flags. The flag and geographic region are on the presentation and the country comes out on mouse click.
2. Spanish speaking countries with corresponding flags and capitals. The flag and geographic regions are on the presentation and then the country and capital come out one at a time on mouse click.

There is a sign introducing the different geographic regions for each group (one sign for North America, Europe and Africa, one for Central America, one for the Caribbean and one for Asia/South Pacific).

Students research several areas associated with holidays and festivals celebrated in Spanish speaking countries. The areas are date/s, food, events, music and dance, location, religious celebrations, countries that celebrate the holiday, and history of the holiday.
Included:
1. 15 different templates, each with a different holiday and the categories listed previously. This is a fun investigative activity for students that can be completed in Spanish or English.
2. One template without the name of a holiday or festival to give you the option of adding more of either.
3. Page that includes several suggestions for using the materials such as a Foreign Language Week activity, Spanish Club activity, or just a homework assignment, to name a few. This has been used very successfully as a substitute teacher lesson in the computer lab. It's a great research activity for use with iPads or other tablets.
