Students fill in the 18 blanks with estar conjugations and then translate the Spanish sentences to English. The sentences contain common words and several cognates.
The answer key is included.

Students practice Spanish numbers from 1 - 10, Spanish colors, and counting in a fun, hands on way with these 2 Spanish emergent reader booklets. Each contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages. One booklet contains text and images, and the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Each page of both booklets has Hay + number + manzanas + color word. An example is Hay dos manzanas amarillas. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page.

This Spanish numbers listening activity will hold the attention of your students as they make their way around the oval writing the Spanish numbers that you dictate. After all numbers are dictated, students quickly do the math to find the correct final answer based on the numbers that they heard and wrote. They will be anxious to raise their hands and share their results! You choose the numbers for the activity so it can be used for very basic numbers or large numbers, depending on your focus.

This Spanish Airport/Travel Crossword contains 30 Spanish airport and travel vocabulary words plus corresponding Spanish to English and English to Spanish vocabulary lists.
Students are instructed to complete the following 3 tasks so they get plenty of practice using the vocabulary:

This resource contains 2 different crosswords plus a corresponding word list for Spanish sports vocabulary.
Students are instructed to:
1. Write a Spanish sport next to each clue.
2. Complete the puzzle.
3. Write a Spanish sport under each clip art image.
The 2 crosswords use the same vocabulary words, but have a different layout.
These crosswords work well for a substitute lesson. After completing the worksheets, partners can quiz each other from the vocabulary list.

Students love these cooperative learning, hands on vocabulary puzzles! With this activity, they'll practice 16 different irregular verbs, conjugated in the present tense, as they assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle. Verbs included are conducir, conocer, dar, decir, estar, hacer ir, oír, poner, saber, salir, ser, tener, traducir, traer, and venir. All verbs are repeated at least once which makes the puzzle more challenging. The puzzle contains a bilingual list of all infinitives alongside it that can be used as a student reference or bookmark. Also included is a page of tips and suggestions for using the puzzles.
Just photocopy enough for class sets (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible.
The puzzles are great to use for introducing and reviewing vocabulary, and they're also helpful for sub lessons. After students assemble the puzzles, they can use the vocabulary lists to quiz each other on the verbs.

Include Hispanic art and culture with your grammar and vocabulary practice! Students interpret 9 sentences about a family portrait done by Colombian artist Fernando Botero. If a sentence is false, students must correct the incorrect words. Students then translate all 9 sentences and are also instructed to write a Spanish family word on each line pointing to family members in the painting. Verbs used include llevar, gustar, estar, hay, incluir, acabar, cenar, and ser, and vocabulary used includes family, clothing and toy vocabulary. The download includes a full size portrait that can be projected in class.
