Spanish Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos Fallen Phrases - This activity provides a unique way for students to write Spanish sentences that utilize common Day of the Dead vocabulary (pierced paper, bread of the dead, cemetery, food, photo, altar, marigolds, family, sugar skulls, etc.) and the verbs gustar and encantar. There are 7 sentences to translate from English to Spanish. The words of the sentences must be written inside of "fallen phrases" boxes that resemble a crossword. Students get feedback as they complete the assignment because only correct words will complete each "fallen phrases" box. The answer key is included.

Spanish Community Helpers 2 Emergent Readers - Ayudantes de la Comunidad - Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages containing words for different community helpers. One booklet contains text and images, the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Words included are policia, doctora, bibliotecaria, bombero, maestro, conductor de autobus, and cartero. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and clip art images. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. Spanish Commands Tú Regular and Irregular 4 x 4 Matching Squares - Students assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 different tú commands. Sample commands are di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven, empieza, abre, firma, levanta, and vuelve. Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Spanish Colors Skit for 2 Students - De Que Color? - This is a 13 line question and answer skit between 2 friends. One repeatedly asks De que color es... with various items such as bicycle, house, shirt, etc. and the other responds using a different color word each time. Phrases such as me encanta, no me gusta and no me digas are used, and there are several examples of gender agreement with nouns and color adjectives so students get good speaking practice with key phrases. The skit is copied 2 per page for student handouts and the English translation is included.

Spanish Color by Numbers House - Los Colores - This download contains 2 sets of 3 different versions of a scene containing a house, 2 birds, clouds and the sun. One set uses anaranjado for orange, and the other uses naranja. Each contains a word bank with numbers corresponding to the colors of the various images. While the images are the same on all 3, the colors vary from one scene to the next. You can either use all 3 versions on the same day by distributing a third of each to your students or use them on 3 different occasions so students have the benefit of reviewing the colors over an extended period.
Spanish Clothing, Months, and Weather Sketch Worksheet - Students must: 1. Complete 6 sentences with a Spanish clothing word.
