I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

Spanish Clothing Emergent Reader Booklet - Que Llevas - Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages containing common Spanish clothing words. This item also includes suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first cut, assemble and read the Spanish Que Llevas Clothing Booklet which contains text and illustrations of common clothing words such as jeans, t-shirt, shoes, jacket, etc. Hoy llevo is repeated 7 times so students learn the phrase quickly and easily. They then create their own version using the text only template. Students will have fun sketching the clothing words and will share them enthusiastically with their classmates and family members! The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the clothing vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.

This clothing crossword includes 47 vocabulary words and 9 clip art images to identify. The assignment is on 2 pages with one containing the crossword and clip art images and the other containing the clues and 3 English to Spanish sentence translations featuring the verbs llevar and gustar. Students are also instructed to write the Spanish word next to each English clue so each word gets written twice giving students extra practice with the vocabulary. The number of vocabulary words on this assignment makes it a great activity for a substitute lesson! The answer key is supplied for the page that contains the clues.

Spanish Class Objects Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity - This activity provides practice asking "do you have" with tener concerning different class objects. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. Each grid states "Tengo" plus different classroom objects that students frequently have. When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish school word under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a great back to school speaking review / get to know you activity for students with prior Spanish experience. 2 pages
