roll and read vowel digraph games - Want some word level reading games that make learning fun and allow students to practise targeted phonic reading skills? These phonic reading games are designed assist students practice their phonic knowledge and apply that to reading words with targeted graphemes. Choose the boards that target your specific phonemes and the graphemes you are teaching. These games are roll and read boards and ‘find the word’ boards. This pack is aimed towards phonics for Year One and Year Two but can be used for consolidation and remediation of students in Year Three. 136 pages.
These boards are differentiated by having a single grapheme on each board and then a consolidation, or extension, board is provided for each target phoneme that includes a combination of graphemes. This is an easy way to differentiate phonic activities in a classroom. When students arrive to the ‘Roll and Read’ table, they simply choose the board that has their target graphemes on. They can also use the ‘I found these words’ boards. In this game, the students tick the words as they land on them and write the word onto their board. I have also provided a sound box follow-up activity. Simply laminate these sheets or put them under plastic (reusable) covers.
