OCR A AS Chemistry Enhanced Intervention

(0)
OCR A AS Chemistry Enhanced Intervention Booklet, aimed at boosting grades and understanding. Has a very small amount of information on each topic but then has exam style questions for students to attempt. Topics Include: Understanding and Applying Atomic Structure and Bonding Key Topics: Electron configuration, types of bonding (ionic, covalent, metallic), shapes of molecules, and intermolecular forces. Quantitative Chemistry and Stoichiometry Key Topics: Moles, molar mass, Avogadro’s number, empirical and molecular formulas, stoichiometric calculations, concentration, titration calculations. Energetics (Thermodynamics) Key Topics: Enthalpy changes (ΔH), exothermic and endothermic reactions, Hess’s Law, bond enthalpies, calorimetry. Reaction Kinetics and Equilibria Key Topics: Rate of reaction, collision theory, activation energy, factors affecting reaction rates, dynamic equilibrium, Le Chatelier’s principle, equilibrium constants (Kc). Organic Chemistry Fundamentals Key Topics: Functional groups, homologous series, naming organic compounds, isomerism (structural and stereoisomerism), basic reaction mechanisms (substitution, addition, elimination), organic synthesis pathways.
