This is an important piece of dialogue as it gives us information about Lennie and George’s relationship. The students’ main task is to re-create this by writing their own dialogue and then presenting to class. This lesson focuses on Stave one of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The lesson gives students awareness of the many techniques uses such as pathetic fallacy to create such an atmosphere. The lesson starts with the students’ first impression of Scrooge by analysing an extract describing Scrooge. It also makes students aware of such things as plot, character relationships and dialogue etc.

This lesson goes through the various social, economic and environmental reasons why Haiti is seen as a low income country (LIC). There are many exercises within this PowerPoint which is printable and it is very much a student orientated lesson with 5 exercises with information given to aid students throughout with facts and figures. The lesson ends with homework which is to research why Haiti is poor.

A PowerPoint presentation that analyses Bertie and Lionel's relationship in The Kings Speech. There are links to two particular scenes showing the development of the relationship embedded in the PowerPoint which are used for students to analyse. Students are then asked to work in pairs to create a timeline of this relationship. This lesson gives students an idea of how climate change will effect our world in various forms. The main activity is to get students analyzing all possibly causes (both positive and negative) and write what effect this will have on people and the environment. This is shown on a printable mind-map.

This lesson shows students the gap between the rich and poor within HICs and LICs. Included in the PowerPoint there are gap-fill exercises and also an exam question. There is a printable exercise sheet where students compare Lesotho and the UK and a hyperlink for a YouTube video.

This lesson teaches students about Europe in terms of location, cities and also rivers through multiple exercises. There is also a quiz where students have to guess the European country. This can be done with an aided map in the students’ diary depending on the group. There are also printable maps where students can write the location of Europe on both a ‘Global Scale’ and ‘Regional Scale’.

Banquo’s Ghost scene is one of the key scenes within Macbeth. This lesson allows students to imagine they are 1) Banquo’s Ghost and 2) The Attendants at the Banquet. This is done by a visual aspect via a video where it allows the students feel as if they are present. They also have to highlight Lady Macbeth’s role in this scene before close analysis of the scene in pairs.

This is a revision lesson of Elizabeth Bishop’s ‘The Fish’ and ‘The Prodigal Son’. This analyzes the theme of nature, imagery and also other poetic techniques from both poems. It also gives a small background of Bishop.

An English Language Paper 2 Non Fiction Booklet which can be used for revision or for lessons. There are 6 articles with 20 questions and also a long question focusing on the writers’ opinions and perspectives. There is also an aswer booklet for the 120 questions.

This PowerPoint and remote learning instructions introduces Haikus in a simple way. It is for remote learning during the lockdown. The ‘Do Now’ exercise tests students’ prior knowledge on syllables as this is required. It then shows students an example of a Haiku, going through the structure and language. Students are then asked to watch a YouTube video for the process and then asked to create their own Haiku. The plenary is to create their own ‘Lockdown Haiku’ which can be emailed to you and the chosen winners will be on a format like Padlet.

This PowerPoint starts with a re-cap on context from Northern Ireland. It then gives students information on the many layers within the poem and also what Longley’s main message is. The students are then asked to answer questions on the poem-these are displayed within the PowerPoint and leads to discussion. Before moving to a diary entry, students are asked to choose a statement. This is to assess the students understanding of the poem before moving forward. The lesson finishes with a plenary to assess students learning. This is lesson two of Longley’s poem Wounds. The first is relating to context.

This lesson introduces students to Macbeth by posing questions in relations to historical context and staging at the time. Throughout the PowerPoint students have to answer questions and engage with images from the play to aid them in their understanding of the play as they read it.
