Subject Specific Vocabulary is included with simple tasks to ensure these are understood. The structure of the Earth is explored with the characteristics of the 4 layers identified. The lesson then moves onto the theory of continental drift and a more detailed look at continental and oceanic crust. Simple assessment activities are included along with opportunities for retrieval. The lesson is designed to be taught from the front of the classroom with a clear and straightforward format.

No other resources are necessary , simply print off the supporting worksheets. The resource makes reference to the Oxford Textbook but a double sided Knowledge Organiser has been included which means that a textbook is not required. Also includes a scaffolded exam question which covers the assessment requirements of the longer questions. The scaffolded question provides a model answer for students.
