Discuss Ember’s readiness to run the shop, her behavior under pressure, and what it reveals about self-control and customer relations. Explore Ember’s dilemma between listening to Wade or obeying her father. Reflect on the contrasting social skills of Wade and Ember, and what they teach about emotions and connections. Investigate the director’s techniques in revealing Ember and Wade’s relationship, and how it leads to discussions about friendship and respect. Discuss Ember’s personal growth, the themes of family expectations, love, and understanding. Finally, interpret the symbolism of Ember and her father’s bows, and the blue flame, as it relates to tradition, identity, and family bonds.
