In addition, each lesson attempts to extend the use of German to match the requirements of GCSE Higher Tier. This presentation revises (or introduces) the imperfect tense with both weak and strong verbs. Along with grammatical explanations there is a gap-fill exercise, a slide for Kim’s game, one for re-writing a present-tense text in the imperfect and a tense mapping exercise for completion with the aid of verb tables.

This presentation revises the perfect tense and covers weak-and-strong, haben-and-sein verbs. Along with grammatical explanations there are tense transfer and translation sentences plus two slides for OXO for oral practice. Slides 5 and 11 contain the paradigm of ‘haben’ and ‘sein, which may be sung along to the tune of ‘Little, Little, Little Star’!

This presentation explains and practises which prepositions are always followed by the Accusative case, which by the Dative case and which can be followed by either. Slide 4 contains a mnemonic for Accusative prepositions, while slide 7 contains a song for remembering Dative prepositions, following the tune ‘Little, Little, Little Star’! Along with grammatical explanations there are also gap-fills and translation exercises.

It is a revision lesson for GCSE and covers verb as 2nd idea, TMP and subordinating + co-ordinating conjunctions. There are many grammatical exercises and the last slide has a passage of German where students have correct the word order for the words in red.
