This Remembrance Day themed art activity explores the four different colours of poppies that are currently in use (red black,purple and white) . Children will first learn about the colour and meaning of each poppy before designing their own version which could be used to represent all groups. Once designed the poppies could be cut out and made into a wreath or other display. Day of the Dead is a two day Mexican celebration where the dead are honored and remembered. It is a time of joy and happiness, skulls are an important feature of the celebration and are seen everywhere. This resource includes 3 skull colouring pages of varying difficulty. I have successfully used these skulls with years 3, 4,5 and 6 to create masks and bunting and also as templates for foam printing but they could also be used by both younger and older children for a variety of activities.
